Highly skilled individuals who are interested in living in Nova Scotia permanently are the targets or the Nova Scotia Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Stream. It is mandatory to have at least one year of work experience in Nova Scotia in a high skilled occupation. Since this program is aligned with the federal Express Entry immigration system, selected applicants receive expedited processing on their immigration applications.
Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry
Highly skilled individuals who can contribute to Nova Scotia’s economy are the target of the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream. It is mandatory for the applicant to have at least a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer or work experience of at least a year in Nova Scotia’s in-demand occupations.
Since this program is aligned with the federal Express Entry immigration system, selected applicants receive expedited processing on their immigration applications.
Nova Scotia Physicians
Nova Scotia Physicians Stream is designed to help public health organizations in the province address critical labour needs. This program is for individuals who have a job offer from a Nova Scotia health organization.
Nova Scotia Skilled Worker
The Nova Scotia Skilled Worker Stream allows Nova Scotia employers to offer jobs to foreign workers or recent graduates whose skills are needed in Nova Scotia. An eligible candidate can apply through this stream for permanent residency.
Nova Scotia Entrepreneur
Business owners or senior business managers who are willing to invest in or start a business in Nova Scotia are the targets of the Nova Scotia Entrepreneur Stream. Applicants must have a certain net worth in order to qualify. They must also be willing to purchase an already existing business in the province or start a new business using their business management experience and skills.
Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities
The main targets of the Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream are Express Entry candidates who have experience in extremely high-demand positions in the province. Since August 2018, this program is only accepting applications from those with experience as Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 4214).
Nova Scotia International Graduate Entrepreneur
Recent graduates of Nova Scotia universities and colleges who have bought or started a business in New Brunswick are the targets of the Nova Scotia International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream.To qualify for a provincial nomination through this stream, the applicant must express an interest in settling in Nova Scotia permanently.
Nova Scotia Occupations in Demand
The Nova Scotia Occupations in Demand Stream targets workers with a job offer from a Nova Scotian employer. Eligible occupations for this program are:
- NOC 7511 (transport truck drivers)
- NOC 3413 (nurses aides, orderlies and patient service associates)
- NOC 7611 (Construction trades helpers and labourers)
- NOC 7521 (Heavy equipment operators (except crane))
Nova Scotia participates in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). This program is a result of partnership between the federal government and Canada’s Atlantic provinces. It is an initiative to positively impact economic growth in the region. Newcomers who have obtained a job offer from an employer in the Atlantic region are facilitated by this program.
